Objectives:

  • General - This project is intended to help the students learn the shop routines, procedures and processes while building their first project.  

  • Tools and Machines -

    • Practice the safe use of the Bandsaw and Belt, Disc, or Edge Sanders. 

    • Practice the proper use of basic hand tools such as; squares, tape measures, clamps and more. 

  • Concepts or Techniques-​

    • The students will learn to use their project plan workbook to assist them in the building process.​​

    • The students will learn to follow the 7 step process of building a project.

  • ​Concepts not directly related, but learned or reinforced-​

    • Problem solving, taking care of their belongings, work ethic, safety, shop maintenance and more...​
